Algadon is a medieval/fantasy themed multi-player role playing game that allows players to perform quests, battle monsters/beasts, fight others, place bounties, and more. Players can buy weapons, armor, food, potions and spells to help in advancing levels, becoming stronger, and performing quests. Players can also join a clan (optional), send private messages, or post public profile messages. As you advance through the game, additional quests, weapons, armor, and more become available. Algadon features a large selection of weapons, armor, spells, and special items available for purchase in the shops and/or drops from bosses and quests.

The IWT JavaScript AJAX class

The IWT JS AJAX class is a JavaScript based class that allows users to easily use the Yahoo YUI 2 Connection Manager without the worries of JavaScript Errors.

The IWT XML Builder

The IWT XML Builder is a PHP script that allows the users to easily build xml responses for other scripts to use, such as our JS AJAX class.

The IWT JavaScript Compactor

The IWT JS Compactor is a PHP script that combines and compresses multiple JavaScript files into one in order to save on requests and bandwidth as well as speed up the rendering of the page.

The IWT CSS Compactor

The IWT CSS Compactor is a PHP script that combines and compresses multiple style sheets into one in order to save on requests and bandwidth as well as speed up the rendering of the page.

Many changes have been made to the Algadon PHP back-end in the past year to reduce queries, optimize load times and add features. When we started our work, the site took almost a second to load with about 40 queries being done on a global level, and some pages hitting over 200 queries. Now the site loads in less than 0.03 seconds most of the time and uses about 5 global queries on average. The site also has had countless features added, both simple and complex.

There were also numerous changes done to the PHP back-end in order to fix errors that existed in the original script as well as errors introduced by previous coders.

Lastly, Algadon's style was completely redone by members of Ideal Web Technologies in order to give the site a cleaner look as well as provide users an overall better experience. Like every style we make, the Algadon style's HTML & CSS, with the exception of two errors inherent in the Yahoo YUI 3 CSS Reset and a few errors for the browser specific border radius declarations, is completely valid by W3C standards.
